Wildflower
PEDIATRIC   THERAPY

Play, Connect, Learn & Grow.

Wildflower Pediatric Therapy is privileged to serve the Fox Valley area, providing speech therapy to toddlers, preschool and school-aged children in Geneva, IL.

We specialize in early language development, speech sound disorders, autism spectrum disorder, and receptive & expressive language disorders.

The Wildflower Philosophy

We believe children thrive when they feel safe, connected, and free to be themselves.

In speech therapy, this looks like building rapport with a child before setting expectations to establish a connection.  This happens through play, following the child's lead, and making sure that no matter how they communicate, they feel heard.

We believe that when children have fun, they are able to grow.

Speech Therapy Services

Consultations

Wildflower Pediatric Therapy is happy to offer consultation and screening services to those with questions or concerns regarding their child’s speech and language development. This can be accomplished by scheduling a phone or zoom appointment, free of charge.  Not sure if speech services can help your child? This is a great place to start!

Evaluations

Individual Treatment Sessions

Therapy sessions begin once an evaluation has been completed, so that we can begin working towards our goals.  We believe that all children learn best when therapy is play-based and child-led.  Our sessions include parents or caregivers whenever possible.

Sessions are typically 60 minutes, which includes 45 minutes of direct treatment, and 15 minutes to collaborate and communicate with caregivers.

TREATMENT IS AVAILABLE TO SUPPORT:

Articulation

Phonology

Expressive and receptive language

Early childhood language development (Late talkers)

Autism spectrum disorder

Gestalt language processors

Social skills

Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)

Wildflower Pediatric Therapy offers diagnostic services to determine the need and type of therapy right for each child. The evaluation process is dynamic, flexible, and information can be gathered in a variety of ways.  Our ultimate goal is to work with each family to create achievable, functional goals.  We do this by using a child's interests, building rapport and through play.  This provides us with the most accurate picture of what each child's abilities and needs are.

Meet Your Speech Therapist
Colleen Larson, M.A., CCC-SLP

Welcome!  I'm Colleen, the face behind Wildflower Pediatric Therapy, PLLC.  I am a Licensed Speech Language Pathologist.  I attended Northern Illinois University for both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees.  I love working with children and have experience with toddlers to high school aged kids. I have experience in public and private schools, therapeutic day schools, and have provided therapy in-home and in private clinic settings. My goal as a therapist is to provide up-to-date expertise and a network of resources to support each child wholly.

I have 3 children of my own, and we homeschool!  When I am not working or schooling, I enjoy spending time outside, baking and eating sweets, crafting, and visiting new coffee spots.

Providers and facilities must provide you with a GFE if you request one or after you've scheduled a service. What Families Say About Wildflower Pediatric Therapy

"We hired Colleen When our child was less than two years old and speaking less than five words verbally. â€‹Our child was thinking in sentences but couldn't communicate verbally and was getting extremely frustrated at her lack of skills.

Colleen helped us to get approved by insurance and start speech therapy. Within just a few short months our child was speaking in complete sentences and in a few months after that others were commenting on how clear our daughter was speaking and how much less frustrated our child was. We are so grateful for Colleen and how she's helped our child."
